IMK has a license to use the renewable energy generating glass curtain walls and facades in development projects. This is part of our mission to help create Vertical Solar Cities. Current building integrated photovoltaic (bipv) products have numerous drawbacks. While many other technologies and products may be promising in the future, those are not market ready, practical or cost effective today. We believe that only using glass windows that appear like "ordinary glass" is realistic and practical. The glass we use is visually clear, it is not just semi-transparent, and there are no grid lines like in standard solar panels. It can be used in any kind of glass specification and fixed glass architectural design. It can also incorporate various tints, transparencies, smart glass, and insulation standards. It has been certified to the highest security glass standards. It is has been fully tested and proven in the field, not a lab, for over 7 years. This is certified for all kind of weather conditions as well including hurricanes. As the glass is standard make up and the energy generation does not degrade, the expected lifespan is just as long as standard non energy generating glass.
This is part of a complete renewable energy generating system. This is not just a film, spray or coating that can chip, peel or de-laminate the glass. We believe those all have numerous drawbacks. This is based on a inorganic nanotechnology. Only inorganic is resistant to degradation from UV light. Most products are organic, and hence have a high degree of degradation.
The most exciting part is our business model that includes the glass discount or "subsidy". The project ends up paying the same amount for this premium technology as they would for standard, non energy generating glass, with the exact same specifications (minus the energy part).
Visually Clear Glass
IMK has a license to use the patented technology. This nanotechnology is incorporated through a proprietary process and generates renewable energy. This results in a glass window that is visually clear...it looks like any ordinary window. There are no grid lines, visual obstructions or distortions, and is not just semi-transparent. Some of the key advantages include:
- Generates clean renewable energy
- Visually Clear
- Can be used in any type of glass design, including all safety, insulation, and weather standards (such as hurricanes, monsoons, etc.)
- Uses cool light, so does not generate excess heat
- Is inorganic, so there is very limited degradation from UV light from the sun compared to other products that are generally organic
- Generates energy from direct sunlight as well as indirect and diffused light. This is designed to be used on the entire facade.
- Has been fully tested, certified and proven
- This is not a film, spray or coating
- Generates energy during daylight hours, not just peak direct sun. This is generally 10-12 hours per day.
Looks Like Ordinary Glass
This is a sample of the visually clear glass. It looks like, (and for all practical purposes it is), ordinary glass. Just by looking at it, you will not be able to know that it also generates renewable energy. This is a complete energy generating system that includes the glass window and framing system. This nanotechnology is one of a kind and has both patents and proprietary manufacturing process.
